Naive or paranoid?

Maybe it is TV news sensationalizing everything, but I feel that these days there are scary things happening everywhere, you have to be a little more careful. Am I being overly cautious? Whatever happened to us trusting that we are all good?

For example, I bought something online from a guy who happens to live across the country, and after I sent him the money, I haven't heard a single peep from him. Granted it's only been 1.5 days. But I thought a quick, "received the money, your package will be shipped shortly" would be nice. Now, we had many email correspondences back and forth and it just seems like a hard way to con me out of $60... so, I have faith that he is just too busy to respond and the package is really on its way... and that only time will tell if I just got suckered out of $60. But why do I even have that doubt in my head in the first place? And when do I realize that my fear has turned into reality?

And then, we are having a garage sale this weekend, so I posted a listing in craigslist, mentioning some of the most expensive items. But then I got this person who says he's really interested in this one item and would like to come see it tonight. I agreed, but the only thoughts that are going through my head are that he's either a serial killer or a robber who's going to rob me of my stuff when he comes over tonight. EEP! He sounded perfectly nice on the phone, but is it weird that he wants to come before the weekend? Should I have not agreed to let him come this evening?

Drool

I think this is going to be my next toy... the Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS AF.

I really wish Canon made a walk-around all-purpose lens like Nikon does, so I would not have to buy a 3rd party brand. But most of the reviews I read were pretty positive, and I think as long as I know this lens won't be as good as 3 separate $500+ lenses and set my expectations appropriately things will be a-ok!

Mimi

Introducing my sweet Yorkie! She's adorable, yes... And like most small dogs with some separation anxiety, she she shreds up paper towels/toilet paper/any paper product whenever left alone. Recently, she realized that pee pads are shred-able just like paper towels, and guess what? Now she can't stop shredding those.

It's kinda frustrating because she was so well trained on pee pads for so long. :(

Who said old dogs can't learn new tricks? (She's 13!)

Poor us too, more to clean every day when we get home from work. Still, we love her.

Gorgeous

So it's been a little more than 1.5 years since we moved into our new house. It's got a great big backyard, but it was just dirt and weeds until last March when I decided to totally re-landscape it.

We added some grass and over time, lots of plants... Three weeks ago I took delivery 5 yards of nicely cooled compost (wish I have a photo of the giant pile!) and covered every part of the flower beds with a nice 3 inches... Now, everything is blooming!

I recently got myself a Canon XTi, and am having a blast shooting whatever, whenever. My busband has been shooting a 20D for a while and I've always wanted to join him shooting. Now I can!

I need to get really good really fast... Luckily, that means taking a lot of pictures. In a few weeks we are going to Hawaii for two weddings... Hopefully I can get some awesome shots!

For my very first blog entry on blogspot, what will I say? Well, I'm not much of a writer, so not sure if this blogging phase I am going through will even last, but I suppose I'll give it a try. Things are crazy in my life right now (I can't remember when it was last not crazy either), but that's what makes the journey fun, right?

Although I am not much of a writer, I love to cook, garden, and recently picked up digital photography... I think all of this should make my blog relatively interesting to lots of people... I will of course add in some occasional rambling too!

So, here goes nothing!
